1. Purpose

This policy keeps our network safe, fast and reliable for everyone. It applies to every HostClub service and forms part of our Terms of Service. You're responsible for how your account is used, including by your own customers if you resell our services.

2. Illegal and harmful content

You must not use our services to host, send or link to:

  • Child sexual abuse material. We report it to the authorities immediately and terminate the account without notice.
  • Material that infringes copyright, trademarks or other intellectual property.
  • Phishing pages, malware, or content designed to deceive people or steal information.
  • Content that incites violence or hatred, or is otherwise illegal under Irish or EU law.

3. Email and spam

Don't send unsolicited bulk or commercial email. Mailing lists must be opt-in, include a working unsubscribe link and follow the ePrivacy Regulations. Shared hosting plans have hourly sending limits; use a dedicated email-marketing service for newsletters.

4. Security and network abuse

Don't attempt to access accounts, systems or data without authorisation, run port scans or attacks against any network, run open proxies or relays, or interfere with other customers' services. Keep your software, plugins and passwords up to date; compromised sites may be suspended until they're cleaned.

5. Fair use of resources

Shared, WordPress and reseller hosting are for websites and their email. They aren't for file storage or backups unrelated to your website, media streaming, crypto-mining, or processes that consistently use more than your plan's CPU and memory. If your usage affects other customers, we'll contact you to agree a fix, which may include an upgrade.

6. Enforcement

If we find a breach, we'll usually contact you first and ask you to fix it. Where there's a serious risk to our network, other customers or the public, or where the law requires it, we may suspend the service immediately. Repeated or serious breaches can lead to termination without a refund.

7. Reporting abuse

To report spam, phishing, malware or illegal content hosted on our network, email abuse@hostclub.ie with the URL or full email headers. Copyright complaints should identify the work and the infringing material.
